Maria Torres

Maria is a Co-Artistic Director and Dance Instructor at Legacy Dance Association. Her love for Latin Dance stems from her Puerto Rican roots and connection to Latinx culture. Her passion for dance and psychology led her to pursuing her Masters Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago, where she studied Laban Movement Analysis. This allowed her to gain a strong understanding of the importance of the mind-body connection. She uses this skill set and approach with her students, aiming to shape well-rounded dancers through the power of movement.
